Movies are emotions that have the power to change life. As stated in Dead Poets Society, it says that we are not just reading and writing poetry because we enjoy it, but we’re doing it because we are human beings. Certain visuals blended with music give a memory that can last forever, making movies no less meaningful in life.
What makes this blog worth your attention?
What bothers me and many Cinema Enthusiasts alike is the fact that Cinema and television are not valued enough and they are only regarded as a form of entertainment. The depth is rarely seen and people think that anything to cut the time is a kind of entertainment.
However, No. The films are made for various reasons as they’re produced as a market product, as a kind of entertainment, built for documentation purposes, made as propaganda, and used for educational purposes. They are treated as art.
Film is not an end in itself, filmmaking is how the objectives are achieved and good movies are a balance of entertainment and art.
What makes “content” good?
This graph categorizes movies based on their balance between entertainment and artistic merit.
Fluff: Content that is highly entertaining but lacks artistic depth.
Entertaining: Moderately high in both entertainment and art.
Great: High in both dimensions, indicating enjoyable content with significant artistic value.
Crap: Low in both entertainment and art, representing poor quality.
Dull: Low in entertainment but moderately high in artistry.
Interesting: Higher in art but midway in terms of entertainment value.
Good: Moderate levels of art and slightly higher levels of entertainment.
Why are they so important to me?
